Glimpses of Putrajaya

Drove to Putrajaya yesterday for a photoshoot. It was too hot and the heat was terrible. Just managed to get a few shots here and there. Here are glimpses of the city.

The Royale Chulan

Yeah its been a while since my last update on this blog. Ever since i came back from my Saigon holiday, one thing followed another and i hardly have time for my camera.

End of April i went for a weekend getaway in one of the newest hotel in town. Royale Chulan, a 5 star hotel located near Bukit Bintang. Just several shots of the hotel as there isn't much to take anyway.

Saigon - Panorama 33

My last nite in Saigon. Me and Noel went to Panorama 33, a restaurant at the top of the highest building in Saigon. Yes, only 33 floor. The view was fantastic but i didn't bring my tripod. Its not easy to capture those lights in the photos especially when my hands shake.

Dinner was rather expensive for Saigon standard. Menu is in USD. It wasn't filling so later on we went back to Pham Ngu Lau area for our 2nd dinner - beef noodle. Yummy.

Saigon - War Remnants Museum 3

War Remnants Museum, a place i thought i would avoid but i couldn't resist the temptation to visit. There was a chilling kind of quietness inside the museum, where photos and statistics of war are displayed. And captured American warplanes and tanks are proudly shown on the outside of the building.

I believe, it is rather one side story but it does tell the ugly side of war. Of course, nothing on display about Vietcong. To them, it is the struggle of all Vietnamese against the American invasion.

I was momentarily touched with what Robert S McNamara wrote in his book - "Yet we were wrong, terribly wrong. We owe it to future generations to explain why." Robert S McNamara was the defense secretary.

There's also a photo depicting US Army evacuation from the top of the building, when Saigon falls. And the last photo, a tank crashing the gate of Reunification Palace, marking the last hold of Saigon, became red.
